TORONTO, January 15, 2016 – The Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO) presented its pre-budget submission to the Minister of Finance, Hon. Charles Sousa.
“Research hospitals are assets for Ontario, contributing to a diversified, knowledge-based economy,” said Karen Michell, Executive Director of CAHO. “To be competitive, we need to increase our capacity for innovation and optimize the health research assets we already have. This starts with stable, ongoing investment and a shared vision for health research in Ontario.”
CAHO’s detailed written submission offers four recommendations for Budget 2016 that sustain the health research enterprise, foster innovation and enhance prosperity for the province:
